Director of Architecture
A self-proclaimed technology lover since he was “just a little kid”, Fernando Galandrini went from tinkering with his Dad’s computer and writing code at just 7 years old, to helping enterprise businesses build scalable and maintainable software solutions. Having moved to Montreal from Argentina (after a quick stop in Italy for his Masters in Wireless Telecommunications), Fernando has been at the centre of the city’s emerging tech scene, honing his skill as a tech expert at global powerhouse Ericsson.
After almost two decades at Ericsson, Fernando set his sights on a new challenge: enter SweetIQ. As SweetIQ’s Director of Architecture, Fernando ensures the company builds bulletproof solutions for our clients. On taking the leap from Ericsson to SweetIQ, Fernando notes that he was drawn to the idea of working for a smaller company, where the high-velocity change and few constraints create an environment that’s ripe for constant innovation. Most importantly, he wanted to measure the impact of the tech his team creates in real-time: “I wanted a constant feedback loop from our customers.”
Fernando models his leadership style off Larry Page and Steve Jobs, whom he admires for their technical aptitude. He’s all about leading by example, and you will overhear him telling his team: “Never expect from other people what you don’t – or can’t – do.”
When Fernando’s off duty, you’ll find him jogging on Montreal’s Lachine Canal or Mount Royal. He cherishes the city that he now calls home for two reasons: the diverse population that shapes the ability to create well-rounded products and solutions, and the hearty supply of vegan restaurants.
